We are getting ready for our Cast & Blast with Larry Csonka next week. So we had to go do some test fishing, haha. One of my buddies brothers were up from Colorado so we took them out to catch some flat fish and ling cod.

We had a great day! Ended up with our limit of halibut with the largest being about 70lbs and 6 legal ling cod with the largest being 44 lbs.

On top of that we pulled 5 gallons of shrimp on the way home.

We had plans to take a nice weekend trip for caribou this coming weekend. But due to so many animals being killed in the first few days of the hunt our Fish and Game closed the season early yesterday. So we quickly packed our gear yesterday morning when we heard the news and headed out for the woods.

We had hoped to go for a bigger bull, but since we only had a day of hunting we wanted some meat in the freezer. So we took these two nice cows. My wife’s animal was her first big game kill!!! I think I was more excited that she was!

Last week we headed south to the grocery store (the ocean). About 12 hours later we had picked-up my parents from the Airport and were stopping in Homer. My first time down there to fish for me. Our goal was to catch some halibut for the freezer. We stopped on the way and got some nice razor clams. We hit the tides right luckily. We did pretty good thanks to some local duck hunter help on fishing spots! Ended up with about 200 lbs of fillets to send home with my parents and to fill our freezers. No real big fish, but some nice chickens as we say.

We have been out and about filling the freezer for this winter!  We took trips to Homer for halibut, Valdez for the Women’s Silver Derby and halibut and the White Mountains for Caribou.   We caught some nice fish and Diana shot her first caribou!  I will catch up and update everyone this weekend!  For now back to real work : (
